  REMEMBER, YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR DUES PAID BY April 10, 2006 to vote in the May Board of Director Elections.  If you want your voice to count, please pay your dues.

 Judy Fistler is chairman of the Nominating Committee 931-752-7562.  If you would like to run for the Board and your name is not on her list, contact her immediately.

 Spring has sprung amidst the snow flakes in Spruce Creek.  The true horse enthusiast like Brenda Lawson rode many days during the winter, but most of us stayed at home warm and snug.  Horse traffic has picked up and  so has construction traffic.  If you are riding during the week, please be careful of the heavy truck traffic.

Tom Pickard has replaced Jack Peters on the Board of Directors.  Jack and LaVera have sold their house in Spruce Creek and are building in the Highlands.  We are sorry to see Jack and LaVera leave but they will still continue to come to potlucks and community activities.

 There are several new residents so if you meet someone on the trail or road that you don’t know, stop and extend your hand in welcome.  Please tell them what a great place it is to live.

  Trails Committee

Tom Pickard is the new Trails Chairman and has already been hard at work.  He has been scouting out the trails and finding all sorts of places that need repaired.  So be prepared there will be some workdays announced pretty soon.

 Mark your calendars for April 1, 2006.  We are joining with the Big South Fork personnel and the Timber Ridge Campground personnel to open the trail in the Sawtooth portion of Big South Fork.  For those that don’t know where this is, it is adjoining the trail that goes to Wildcat Den.  This will add a lot to the trails of Spruce Creek.  They are also going to work on the rocky hill section of the Proctor Ridge Trail.  This really needs some TLC.

 When you are riding and notice an unsafe place on our trails, please advise Tom  or one of the Board of Directors. 

 Newsletter

 The newsletter will now be sent out every month during the months April thru November.  This is being done to keep you better informed.

 The newsletter is being sent out to several of you via e-mail.  If you cannot open it for some reason, it is available on the web site. 

 Fundraisers

 We have the Spruce Creek Trails shirts. You can get t-shirts, polo shirts, denim shirts and caps with the

Spruce Creek Trails logo. Just e-mail Ruth Watson or give her a call at 931 879 8044.  She has some shirts in inventory, but will get you what you want.

 We have a new “So Many Trails, So Little Time” shirt.  It is a pretty scenery design with a horse and rider.  T Shirts sell for $15 and caps sell for $12.

 Cookbooks -   When you bring your favorite dish to the potluck, bring a copy of the recipe.  These recipes will be compiled and put in a cookbook.

  Comments:

Please carry any cans, papers, or bottles out if you carry them in.  Someone has to pick up your trash if you discard it.  Be responsible and it will pay dividends.
